Body of Vancouver Man Found in Ravine Near Kaiser Sunnyside

Police are investigating the death of a missing Vancouver man, whose body was discovered at the bottom of a ravine near SE 97th and Sunnybrook Blvd. in Clackamas Thursday morning.

The body of the 34-year-old, whose name has been withheld pending an autopsy, was found by his own family members early Thursday morning, after they had spent the night searching the ravine near the Kaiser Pemanenty Sunnyside Medical Center, where he was last seen.

The subject’s body was recovered by Clackamas Fire District #1, with a portion of SE Sunnybrook Blvd. being closed several hours during the recovery and initial investigation. The road was re-opened at 10:40 a.m.

Volunteers with the Trauma Intervention Program, TIP NW, and a chaplain from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office were on scene with investigating officers to provide assistance to the victim’s family and friends.

He was a “beloved” member of the family, according to relatives, who are declining media interview requests at this time. They said they appreciate the outpouring of support from friends and family.
