Detectives Investigating ‘Suspicious’ Fire at Willamalane Apartments in Milwaukie

Police and fire officials are investigating what they have described as a “suspicious” early morning fire at Willamalane Apartments in Milwaukie.

At 4:50 a.m. Thursday, March 26, Clackamas Fire District No. 1 and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a residential fire at the apartment complex, located on the 4700 block of SE Boardman Avenue.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to one building. Upon further investigation, the fire was deemed suspicious, according to a release from the CCSO.

Investigators from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, CCSO Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit, Oregon State Police, Clackamas Fire and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms remained on the scene to investigate.

The American Red Cross also arrived on-scene to provide disaster relief to the four residents displaced by this incident.
