Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Crash with Truck in Boring

A motorcyclist was killed in Boring this weekend after a head-on collision with a large pick-up truck.

Robert W. Burke Jr., 40, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 10400 block of SE 362nd Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office say Burke was killed after his Kawasaki Ninja collided with a Chevy Silverado pickup at a high rate of speed. CPR was not attempted, police said.

Early reports indicate Burke and a fellow motorcycle rider were traveling south on SE 362nd when the Silverado attempted to turn onto the road from the entrance to a mobile-home park. The driver stopped abruptly when he saw Burke, police said, but the motorcyclist was unable to veer around the truck in time.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. A passenger in the Silverado was transported to a local hospital by AMR.
