Youth Life Jacket Giveaway at Fairgrounds Saturday

As the weather — slowly — turns warmer and drier, more residents are enjoying the great outdoors, including Canby’s ample waterways.

For local families in need of youth life jackets to ensure their outdoor recreation is as safe as possible this summer, a free giveaway will be hosted by Coastal Farm & Ranch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at locations across the state, including the Clackamas County Fairgrounds.

This will be a social-distancing safe and contactless drive-through event. No need to bring the kids. Parents should just know their child or children’s weights. There will be three sizes available while supplies last, from infant to youth, with approximately 300 total life jackets planned for the giveaway.

Infant-sized jackets are for children up to 30 pounds, child size accommodates 33 to 55, and youth are for 55 to 88 pounds, the company said. For more information, visit Coastal’s website.
