Canby Ferry Closed Through April 6 in Effort to Slow Spread of COVID-19

COVID-19 has claimed another casualty, as leaders at all levels of government continue take extraordinary action in an effort to slow the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic.

The latest closure is the Canby Ferry, the service of which will be suspended effective March 18. At this time, the ferry is scheduled to reopen on April 6.

The announcement comes on the heels of yesterday’s news that the Board of Commissioners has closed most county buildings to the public. County staff will try offer as many services virtually as they can.

Courts and law enforcement are remaining open on a limited basis. Many county employees have been instructed to telework from home.
