City of Wilsonville to Hold Public Hearing on Aurora Airport

The Wilsonville City Council has announced a public hearing at 7 p.m. Nov. 27, at City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East, to hear public testimony on the proposed $37 million expansion at the Aurora State Airport.

The city sent a letter to legislators last month raising concerns about a perceived lack of involvement in the decision-making process by the public and other jurisdictions who would be impacted, Wilsonville and Clackamas County among them.

The Wilsonville City Council said they hope the forum provides the chance for public officials, stakeholders, impacted parties and the general public to present their views. A record of public testimony will be presented for consideration by state legislators and the Governor, members of the Oregon Congressional delegation and the FAA.

The hearing is being held prior to prospective approval by the legislature’s Joint Emergency Board during “Legislative Days” in Salem during December 12-14, 2018.

Public testimony, both oral and written will be accepted prior to and at the public hearing. Written statements are encouraged and may be submitted to City Recorder, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East, Wilsonville, OR 97070 or by email at cityrecorder@ci.wilsonville.or.us.
