County Offering Grants to Non-Profits Impacted by Covid-19

Applications will open Monday for Clackamas County’s Small Grants Program, with a quarter-million dollars being offered to eligible nonprofits serving vulnerable populations.

This year, preference will be given to organizations facing unanticipated expenses due to Covid-19, as well as those that serve communities of color — which have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

Other criteria for funding will include groups that prioritize clear, one-time expenses, encourage partnerships to increase community impact, and have planned projects that result in a “positive, measurable outcome for residents.”

This marks the 12th consecutive year of the program. Last year, 38 groups were selected for grants ranging from $250 to $15,000.

In the past, groups receiving grants serve populations such as seniors, housing-insecure individuals, veterans in need, families of cancer-stricken children, at-risk youth, the developmentally disabled, hungry persons and many more.

For more information, and a link to the grant application once it becomes available July 13, visit the county’s Small Grants Program webpage. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m.

Recipient organizations are expected to be announced in October, and funds will be awarded quickly thereafter. Organizations receiving funding will be required to show how the grant was used, including service level and performance measures.
