The Canby Cougars football team (0-3) had a tough night against a very good visiting Tigard team. They fell, 35-0, in their league opener.
Senior quarterback Trent Wakefield (4) had 126 yards passing and another 35 on the ground. Sophomore wide receiver Tyler Mead (15) had two nice receptions against the Tigers’ tough defense, totaling 35 yards. On the other side of the ball, senior Tristen Ramirez (24) impressed with six tackles and two passes defended.
Canby will go back to non-league play for their next challenge, traveling to Newberg on Friday to take on the 1-2 Tigers.
