Canby Girls Basketball Snaps Losing Streak with Dramatic OT Win

The Canby girls basketball team snapped their dismal nine game losing streak in dramatic fashion. They ended regulation Tuesday night’s tied with the home team Tigard Tigers, but the Cougs would not be denied, coming away with the 53-48 victory in OT.

They followed it up with a thrilling, triple overtime game against Lake Oswego on the road, in which they also squeaked out the win, 77-75. Way to go, Cougars!

They’ll be at home both games this week, hosting St. Mary’s on Tuesday, then more drama on Friday as Tigard comes to town looking for a little revenge. action starts at 7 p.m.

The Cougar boys basketball team, meanwhile, continued to struggle in league play. They lost both of their home games, falling to Tualatin on Tuesday 62-43, then struggling, predictably, against No. 1 overall Lake Oswego on Friday.
