Canby Wrestling Takes Second at Colton Holly Invite in Wilsonville

The Canby wrestling team had an impressive showing at the Colton Holly Invite, finishing second in the annual tournament at Wilsonville High School.

It was the Cougs’ fourth straight trip to the finals for that tourney, and they missed their third title by only 10 points in the decisive tilt against Silverton.

On the road to the finals, Canby, which has been ignored in the OSAA coaches’ poll thus far this season despite some impressive performances, took down Aloha and Oregon City — who were last ranked seventh and tenth, respectively, in that same poll.

Other teams seeing action at the Colton Holly included Barlow, Lake Oswego, Wilsonville and Timberline.

The Cougs’ next challenge will be a dual against Three Rivers League rival Lakeridge, under the lights at Canby High School.

Love the way CHS sets up the mats and lighting for @CanbyWrestling matches. Makes us feel like we’re about to watch a Rocky movie or something. https://t.co/tnDYwfZ3cI
