Super Sophomore Joey Baguio Nets Hat Trick in 5-3 Loss to Wilsonville

In soccer last week, the women’s team came away with a tie against Beaverton before dropping a hard-fought match to Wilsonville, 5-3. Super soph Joey Baguio scored all three goals for Canby, including one she punched in three seconds before the halftime buzzer to tie the game 2-2.

Similar results for the men’s team, as they fell to Lake Oswego at home Tuesday, 5-1, then battled Oregon City to a 1-1 standstill on a goal by senior captain Ben Martinusen.

In other news, junior midfielder Francisco Cabello was named MaxPreps Oregon Player of the Week for his two-goal, one-assist performance in the Cougs’ Sept. 17 win over Lakeridge.
